The EU currently counts around 10 million managers whose choices affect the sustainability of our economy, society, and environment. Biases can influence strategic choices including recruitment, appointments, regulations, and dismissals. Furthermore, they can lead to labour shortages, hamper innovation, and prevent change processes in organisations and in policymaking.
Against that background, the project’s launch conference will explore where we are at with unconscious bias in the world of decision-making today. How are current policies and leadership development tacking unconscious biases? What does scientific evidence say about their prevalence in management? And how can we reap the benefits of diversity and inclusion for successful organizational development from a managerial perspective?
